BodyLogicMD bioidentical hormone experts share successful reinvention tips

Boca Raton, FL – September, 2009 –The long, hot summer of this horrible year is finally over – but you’re not feeling any cooler. Hot flashes, mood swings, and weight gain leave you feeling depressed and off your game. You’ve lost your job, your youngest just left the nest, and you’re trying to figure out what to do with the rest of your life. Menopause is the last thing you need to be dealing with right now.

“In this year of dramatic upheavals, many American women between the ages of 40 and 60 are looking to push the reset button on their lives and careers,” said Dr. Jennifer Landa of BodyLogicMD of Orlando, the nation’s leading network of bioidentical hormone physicians. “Enduring the challenges of menopause while dealing with the fallout from a loss of job or income, divorce, illness, or an empty nest can make even the strongest woman want to curl up in bed and hide under the covers.”

But within every crisis lies opportunity. Dr. Landa offers five strategies to help menopausal women successfully manage this life stage transition and gain the confidence and energy they’ll need to find meaningful new jobs or careers:

  1. Get your menopause symptoms under control. Visit an expert who is trained in addressing the physical, emotional, and nutritional needs of menopausal women. You can’t fortify yourself to take on the world if you can’t sleep, hate the way you look in the mirror, or feel irritable all the time. First things first!
  2. Set goals for improving your overall health and well being. Bring them with you to your health care professional and ask them to help you achieve them. Schedule follow- ups every one to three months, or as often as you need to track your progress.
  3. De-stress for less. Make the care of your body and spirit your first priority by setting aside one hour every day to keep stress at bay. Exercise for at least 30 minutes. Do whatever you enjoy whenever you can make the time – but commit to do it. Take the other 30 minutes and dedicate them to relaxing. Meditate, read a book, walk the dog, or relax in the tub.
  4. Make two lists: Write down all the things you love to do professionally, and all the things that bring you joy personally. Identify the support network of friends and mentors you’ll need to achieve your personal and professional goals.
  5. Get out there. Attend as many free or nominal fee workshops, networking events, and seminars as you can. Open up your mind, listen, and learn. Sharing your experience and listening to others share their stories will help you build connections and identify opportunities you didn’t know you had.

“Following the steps above will help you lay the foundation for your life’s next big adventure,” said Dr. Landa.” By 2010, you should be physically, emotionally, and mentally strong enough to get that job, start that new business, or find meaningful work as a free agent. The world really is your oyster. “
