Get Balanced with National Women's Health Week May 14-20, 2006
BodyLogicMD Encourages Women to Check Hormone Levels, Simple Steps for a Longer, Healthier, and Happier Life
Jacksonville, FL - May 8, 2006 - In today's fast-paced world of work, children, spouses and errands, finding "me-time" is challenging for the woman who "does it all". In typical fashion, business-women, wives and mothers often push their own needs aside to care for others. National Women's Health Week encourages women to make that time to care for themselves.
The week runs from May 14-20, 2006, and kicks off with National Women's Check-Up Day on May 15, to encourage women to schedule an appointment with their doctor or other health care provider for an annual check-up and health screenings. Community health centers, hospitals, and other health care providers across America will participate in this event by offering preventive health screenings to women.
One such medical facility that actively supports National Women's Health Week is BodyLogicMD, a national network of doctors specializing in bioidentical hormone therapy integrated with fitness and nutrition. Dr. Gary Bernard, owner of the Jacksonville BodyLogicMD center, urges women to take care of themselves year-round.
"National Women's Health Week acts as a catalyst to motivate women all year long to keep up with their medical appointments and scheduled screenings," says Dr. Bernard. "It is very important for women to stay ahead when it comes to their health by dedicating time to caring for themselves."
As women age, hormone levels begin to decline leading up to menopause. During this time, many women suffer from hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain and irritability. In her recent book The Sexy Years, Suzanne Somers best described the onset of menopause as being invaded by the seven dwarfs: Itchy, Bitch, Sweaty, Sleepy, Bloated, Forgetful and All-Dried-Up. Using bioidentical (natural) hormone therapy to treat these symptoms of aging can give women their lives back.
"No one should have to suffer through the unpleasant symptoms related to hormonal imbalances such as menopause," says Dr. Bernard. "By using bioidentical hormone therapy combined with a customized nutrition and fitness routine, our patients feel younger and revitalized."
BodyLogicMD supports National Women's Health Week by encouraging women to have their hormone levels tested and get their lives back in balance.
