Are Bioidentical Hormones A Modern Day Fountain of Youth?
BodyLogicMD Physicians Help Patients Live Better, Not Longer
JACKSONVILLE, FL ? October, 2010 - Tales of the esoteric "fountain of youth" have been recounted for thousands upon thousands of years. Perhaps most notable is Ponce de Leon's 16th century voyage to the Americas. According to legend, he discovered Florida while on a quest for everlasting youth. Still today much emphasis is placed on how to live longer and preserve youthful looks and many Americans are on a vitality quest of their own.
There's no magic pill that can stop the body's aging process or add years on to your life. Even bioidentical hormones are not enough alone. And although you may not be able to extend your longevity, BodyLogicMD affiliated physicians have successfully helped tens of thousands of women and men improve their overall quality of health.
"Ultimately, the quality of your years outweighs the quantity. It's not so much a matter of how long you live, but how well," shares Jo Ann Holoka, M.D., who recently opened BodyLogicMD of Jacksonville - BodyLogicMD's 8th Florida-based bioidentical hormones practice.
Before joining BodyLogicMD, the nation's leading brand in bioidentical hormone therapy, Dr. Holoka practiced as an OB/GYN and managed a successful private practice since 1989. As a BodyLogicMD affiliated physician, Dr. Holoka has the opportunity to combine her medical prowess and passion for integrative and preventive therapies to treat her patients based on their individual needs.
"Preventive and integrative medicine help to prevent and in many cases reverse symptoms and health challenges associated with aging. Instead of focusing on ways to treat disease, I devote my practice to helping women and men stay healthy and live the best life they can possibly live," shares Dr. Holoka.
Dr. Holoka specializes in helping women and men find relief from symptoms of hormonal imbalance, oftentimes associated with menopause, andropause (the male menopause), adrenal fatigue and thyroid disorders. She offers her patients customized wellness programs that include personalized nutrition and fitness regimens, pharmaceutical-grade supplementation, stress reduction techniques and bioidentical hormone therapy.
"Patients are oftentimes relieved to discover a solution that really works. Many of them have reported feeling better than they have in years and some started seeing results almost immediately," says Dr. Holoka. "When it comes to your health, the sky is the limit. It's all a matter of how much time you invest in yourself. The key to living a long and healthy life is balancing your body and mind."
