About Melinda Silva, M.D.

While practicing as a Family Physician, Dr. Melinda Silva witnessed first-hand the waning quality of health in women and men over the age of 35. Her concerns grew as she learned that many of her patients were seeking help form specialists who prescribed risky medications and recommended surgeries for preventable conditions most often bought on by poor nutrition, lack of exercise and hormonal imbalances related to aging.

Dr. Silva made the decision to transition into integrative and functional medicine because she believes that preventive care is the solution to our current health crisis. As a part of the BodyLogicMD network, Dr. Silva works closely with her patients to develop customized regimens consisting of natural bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) integrated with balanced nutrition and supplementation, regular exercise and stress-reduction techniques to help guide them through the aging process.

Dr. Melinda Silva practices integrative and functional medicine in the California-based bioidentical hormones practice she shares with fellow BodyLogicMD physician Stephen Center, M.D. She is devoted to helping women and men find relief from the symptoms related to hormonal imbalance, such as hot flashes, weight gain, fatigue, irritability, depression and mood swings, as well as other health challenges associated with aging and often attributed to perimenopause, menopause and andropause (the male menopause).

Melinda Silva, M.D., received her undergraduate degree in 1987 from the University of California, where she also completed her Doctorate in Medicine in 1993. Dr. Silva then fulfilled her Internship and Residency in Family Medicine at Long Beach Memorial in 1997. In addition, Dr. Silva is a Fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).

At your hour-long initial consultation, your BodyLogicMD physician will meet with you personally to discuss your symptoms, review your results and talk through the appropriate treatment to meet your individualized needs. Our highly experienced physicians undergo hundreds of hours of training in bioidentical hormones and have helped thousands of women and men suffering the symptoms of hormone imbalance.

Finally, if necessary, your BodyLogicMD physician will prescribe the customized compounded bioidentical hormones and other pharmacy-grade supplements for your personalized program. The compounding pharmacy will contact you and send these directly to your home or office as you request.
