About Dr. Abell

As the owner and operator of BodyLogicMD of Louisville, Dr. John Abell devotes his bioidentical hormones practice to guiding his patients through the aging process, helping both men and women find relief from symptoms of hormonal imbalance using bioidentical hormone therapy integrated with lifestyle improvement programs, including fitness and nutrition.

Although trained in traditional medicine “by the book,” BodyLogicMD’s Dr. John Abell saw a whole new world when he was introduced to Anti-Aging medicine. Dr. Abell believes that preventive medicine is the best medicine he has seen in all the years he has been in practice and relishes in his ability to help his patients find relief from the symptoms of hormonal imbalance. Soon after reading Phillip Lee Miller’s The Life Extension Revolution, he decided to pursue a career in preventive medicine. John Abell, M.D. was fascinated by the field of anti-aging medicine and within one year of reading Dr. Miller’s book, he had completed the Fellowship in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. He also was privileged to spend a weekend with Dr. Miller in an exclusive training class learning more about anti-aging medicine.

Dr. John Abell graduated cum laude from the University of Louisville Medical School in 1988 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University in 1991. He was Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1991 and recertified in 2001. Dr. Abell was also Board Certified by the American Board of Anti-Aging in 2008.

Dr. Abell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine.

At your hour-long initial consultation, your BodyLogicMD physician will meet with you personally to discuss your symptoms, review your results and talk through the appropriate treatment to meet your individualized needs. Our highly experienced physicians undergo hundreds of hours of training in bioidentical hormones and have helped thousands of women and men suffering the symptoms of hormone imbalance.

Finally, if necessary, your BodyLogicMD physician will prescribe the customized compounded bioidentical hormones and other pharmacy-grade supplements for your personalized program. The compounding pharmacy will contact you and send these directly to your home or office as you request.
