The onset of endometriosis (as a teenager) and the long tortuous pathway to a diagnosis is how the first part of my journey started. I had many surgical procedures and tried the few treatments available to me at the time. I managed to produce one pregnancy, but later learned it was an ectopic or tubal pregnancy. My doctor at the time personally drove me to the E.R. and had me into the operating room just as my tube ruptured. I lost a lot of blood and it was then that the doctor, with the consent of my husband agreed it was in my best interest to have a complete hysterectomy. I was twenty-one years old. What a reality to wake up to.

So… hormonal harmony for me is science finally catching up! I transitioned to bio-identical hormone therapy just over two years ago. This was after taking Premarin for over twenty years. It was a smooth transition and only required a few adjustments. Dr. Wade Huey of Woodland, Texas and his wonderful staff truly do take the time to partner with the patient and the healthcare decisions are made together.
