On May 21, 2010, The Doctors T.V. show was all about women's hormonal health. Hormone specialist Dr. Prudence Hall made it clear that women's health, personality and happiness were all linked to their hormone levels; when a woman's hormones are not balanced depression, weight gain, anxiety, sleeplessness and low libido will ensue. Women experiencing symptoms of a hormonal imbalance should make an appointment with their local hormones doctor to have their hormonal levels tested.

Despite age, Dr. Hall advised that women not discount the cause of their symptoms to be a hormonal imbalance; hormone levels in women can start to change in early 30's.

The show explained to women what bioidentical hormones are and discussed how they could benefit from them. Bioidentical hormones mimic the estrogen and progesterone produced by the body and are manufactured to have the same molecular structure. The bioidentical hormones are extracted from soy and yams and are considered natural. Oftentimes, natural hormones are confused for conventional hormones; however, conventional hormones are created from synthetic hormones and are actually different than bioidentical hormones.

Best-selling author, Robin McGraw, was also on the show to share her experience with menopause and hormone replacement therapy. In her book, What's Age Got to Do With It? Living Your Happiest and Healthiest Life, an entire chapter is devoted to hormones; she does not hesitate to say that one of the smartest things she has done in her life is having her hormones balanced.

Dr. E author of the book, Shmirhsky: Think Inside the Book, experienced harsh symptoms related to menopause motivating her to write an entire book on the subject. She recalls that some of her symptoms included the extreme of forgetting her own kids? names.

Dr. Lisa Masterson, gave women advice on how to treat vaginal dryness and why the vagina gets dry. Vaginal dryness is directly related to the decrease in estrogen and can be repaired through the use of vaginal rings, suppositories and creams containing estrogen. Of course, hormone therapy is always an option to get estrogen levels balanced.

Hormones play a tremendous role in the life of women as women are considered hormonal beings. The symptoms of a hormonal imbalance can be very tying for a woman; but there are options. As discussed in the show hormone therapy and bioidentical hormones are great solutions for women who no longer wish to deal with negative symptoms. Don't hesitate to contact one of your local bioidentical hormone doctors.
