An article published by Lawrence Journal-World begs the question: If you knew when you were going to go through menopause, would you plan accordingly? Well scientists have discovered a simple blood test that can predict when a woman will enter the change of life, known as menopause. Researchers drew blood samples from 266 women between the ages 20 and 49 and analyzed the levels of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) - a hormone produced by the ovaries. The blood was then analyzed twice more, at three-year intervals. The data helped scientists develop a prognostic model that turned out to be fairly accurate at determining when exactly a woman would start to experience symptoms of menopause - with an average margin of error around 4 months.
Although blood tests may one day have the capability of predicting precisely when the menopause is coming, for now women should trust their bodies to be the best judge. There are many changes that take place before menopause that let a woman know that her body is changing. Many of these changes are commonly associated with perimenopause or early menopause. BodyLogicMD affiliated physicians recommend that women have their hormone levels tested if they suspect that some of the symptoms they're experiencing may be the result of an underlying hormonal imbalance. There is no way to avoid menopause, but it is possible for women to make the transition smoother by balancing hormones naturally with bioidentical hormone therapy.
Want to find out if bioidentical hormones could help you? Take the Hormone Balance Test now to find out if the symptoms you're experiencing might translate into a hormonal imbalance.
