Physicians Balance Testosterone Levels with Bioidentical Hormones
Physicians Balance Testosterone Levels with Bioidentical Hormones | February, 2010
According to recent article published on BBC News, studies indicate that low testosterone levels brought on by the effects of cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, could affect up to 15 percent of male cancer survivors. Many of the participants reported waning energy levels and impaired sexual function (low libido). Professor Richard Ross of Sheffield University, who headed the study, feels strongly that "interventional" trials with testosterone therapy can help us determine whether or not young male cancer survivors will benefit from treatment.
When testosterone levels are low, men oftentimes experience symptoms such as adrenal fatigue, low libido and erectile dysfunction. Although low testosterone and hypogonadism are likely to occur in middle-aged men, invasive cancer therapies can leave young males suffering from many of the symptoms commonly associated with the male menopause, known as andropause. The bioidentical hormone doctors at BodyLogicMD have helped tens of thousands of men balance testosterone levels to overcome symptoms of hormonal imbalance, using a structured regimen consisting of bioidentical hormones and customized nutrition and fitness programs.
