Compounding pharmacies are a great way to manage your personal health. They specialize in preparing customized medicine that is not available over the counter. This type of medication is prescribed by both physicians, as well as veterinarians. Some of these pharmacies even offer free educational seminars that discuss all of the benefits of customized medications.
Dr Linda Tetor of Hilltop Family physicians in Parker regularly prescribes compounded medications. She mostly prescribes bioidentical hormones, but she also write prescriptions for pain relievers, anti-inflammatory topical crèmes and prescriptions for things for sore muscles for athletes.
Compounding medications are also great for children that do not like or cannot take over the counter medications. These medications are also helpful to cancer patients who need medication specifically designed for them or for patients that take multiple medications and can do so in one dose.
Compounding pharmacies are trained and licensed in pharmacy schools, and the materials that make up the medications are obtained from licensed FDA-registered manufacturers.
