There's no way to put the brakes on aging. As a result, we're constantly changing - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The majority of these changes are occurring beneath the surface; however, when we're feeling lousy on the inside, our bodies oftentimes suffer on the outside because of it - and visa-versa. Chronic stress, adrenal fatigue, mood swings, irritability, depression, low libido and other symptoms commonly associated with aging are oftentimes the result of an underlying hormonal imbalance. When it comes to hormonal imbalance, there's good news and bad news. The bad news is hormonal imbalances can affect anyone and everyone, regardless of age, gender or even quality of health. The good news is that hormonal imbalances, oftentimes brought on by perimenopause menopause, andropause (the male menopause), adrenal fatigue, and thyroid disorders, are well within the realm of prevention. Many of the symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disorders, weight gain, mood swings and low libido can be mitigated, with a combination of bioidentical hormone therapy and customized nutrition and fitness regimens.

Recently, Dr. Stephen Center was featured on NBC Channel 4 News, with one of his female patients, Barbara. At age 55, Barbara had trouble sleeping and was suffering from intense mood swings and just didn't feel like herself anymore. After completing a series of blood and saliva tests and following a complete review of her symptoms, Dr. Center prescribed a customized bioidentical hormones regimen, individually tailored to meet Barbara's specific needs. After a few short weeks, Barbara began feeling like herself again - she was happier, her moods were stable, her sex drive was back and she was finally able to sleep through the night without interruptions.
