Dr. Jack Anstandig Discusses Hair Loss on Lifestyle 55

Las Vegas bioidentical hormones expert, Jack Anstandig, M.D. discusses some of the medical reasons for hair loss on Lifestyle 55 with Wayne Messmer. While losing your hair may seem like a guy thing, it turns out that women can experience thinning of the hair and male pattern baldness too. It's estimated that 20 million women in the U.S. alone are affected by hair loss and 40 percent of them are under the age of 40.

Interestingly enough, studies suggest that genetics have little to do with it. Some common causes of hair loss include hormonal imbalance, stress, nutritional deficiencies, pregnancy, birth control and hair care products According to Dr. Anstandig, the key to effectively treating hair loss is determining what's causing the hair to fall out in the first place.
